Introduction to embedding equality, diversity and inclusion in the curriculum

The aim of these online workshops is to increase the awareness and confidence of teaching and tutoring staff at Brunel in developing and delivering inclusive and accessible teaching and learning for a diverse student cohort ensuring it is socially and culturally relevant.

The sessions will be delivered by the Associate Dean of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion for CHMLS, Shafeena Anas

It will last approximately 1 hour with up to a further 15 minutes for discussions.

All staff, particularly teaching and tutoring staff

Aims & Objectives

  • Strengthen awareness of Equality Diversity & Inclusion and why it’s relevant to student outcomes and experience
  • Introducing the Equality Diversity & Inclusion teaching toolkit
  • Developing skills and confidence to make teaching and learning inclusive
  • Sharing examples and good practice

 

Delegates will be provided with best practice guidance and examples through presentation, discussion, case studies, and real-life scenarios. They will be encouraged to ask questions in a respectful way in a safe environment.
