PGR Research Degree Examination Process and Independent Chairs Training

This training is split into two parts:

  • Training on the research degree examination process – applicable to all staff involved in the examination of postgraduate researchers
  • Training on the role of the independent chair for a research degree examination  - applicable to all staff who would like to chair, or existing chair’s who would like a refresher.

Both parts of the training will cover the University policy and regulations, the roles and responsibilities of each examination panel member, and good practice.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to share good practice and ask questions. Staff who attend the training on the role of the independent chair will be added to the University’s official list of trained staff.

This training will be delivered twice this year. Each session includes both parts of the training.
