#AnotherHat; Strategies and Methods to Introduce Social Media Management and Content Creation into your Academic Role
This session will give advice and tips on how to work on a social media presence and how to include this in your work life in ways that cause the least amount of disruption, while also generating content that best showcases your field. As part of this, easy to learn examples of content, platforms to post on (and everything that goes with this), and basic outreach methods will be discussed alongside examples.
Presenter biography:
Bradley McAvoy-James is a lecturer in Games Design at Brunel and has been teaching and working within the games industry for nearly 15 years. During this time, they have worked in many areas in the gaming industry including journalism, esports, production, community management, and development. Bradley has always been dedicated to creating interesting experiences and getting more amazing people into the games industry to affect meaningful change to keep growing the field he loves.

- Help staff who wish to work on social media for their area either start or improve the process
- Provide tips for basic outreach on social media platforms
- Highlight how work on this and maintain a reasonable work/life balance
