Managing Classroom Behaviours

Join our upcoming workshop designed to equip academic staff with practical strategies for managing challenging classroom behaviours, such as student lateness, rudeness, and inattentiveness. While serious behaviour issues are thankfully rare, they can create uncertainty when they do arise.

This session offers a supportive space to explore effective approaches that maintain a positive learning environment. You'll gain insights from experienced educators, share experiences, and develop confidence in handling these situations with professionalism and empathy. The session is led by Dr Nick Worsfold, Reader (Education) in Environmental Sciences & Associate-PVC Education, Student Experience; he will give examples of what can be shared with students to set behavioural expectations at the start of courses and the policies/codes of conduct that support you as an educator.  We encourage attendees to share their own examples of practice.
