Belongingness and first career destination – the impact of placements on students and graduate employment
Dr Mark Wareing, Reader & Department Director of Practice Learning, presents findings from the ‘Placement, Impact, Experience & Destination’ (PIED) study; a collaborative piece of research undertaken by two universities that examined the psychological impact of placements on student belongingness and their first career destination decision-making. This session will also explore the challenges of undertaking a cross-sectional mix-methods study and how research design and data collection was adapted to overcome the impact of the pandemic.
