Constructive alignment- a critical approach

What is ‘Constructive Alignment’?
This is an important concept for any new/early career colleagues who may not understand how academic programmes are constructed. Ever wondered what the difference is between different levels, or how module and programme outcomes link together, or what a TLA ( teaching, learning & assessment)strategy should look like? This session should throw some light on these questions.
What do I know about this? Well in a previous institution I designed a new degree from scratch and so learned very quickly ‘on the job’, a great case of experiential learning. Constructive alignment really is the basis of a good TLA strategy, because if you get it right you can then innovate and play with teaching methods safe in the knowledge your module is rooted in good practice.
