Reflective Practice

This session will introduce you to the principles of reflective practice and how you might use them for your professional development. 

Aimed at

New academics taking the Academic Professional Programme. APEX Open candidates, hybrid route candidates and anyone else interested.

Aims & Objectives

You will compare reflective approaches such as Brookfield’s Lens, Gibb’s reflective cycle, CARL and the Driscoll 3 Step plan. Attendees will consider their values and how these relate to their teaching philosophy. You will identify barriers to reflective practice and how these can be overcome, including the impact space can have. You will be expected to bring examples of practical experiences you can write about and discuss in this session. You will be offered the opportunity to take part in an Action Learning Set

Academic Professional Programme participants are expected to stay for duration of the session.
